Should we sugar coat our messages or tell the truth straight?

Just spend some time taking the sugar coat off and let a young believer/seeker see the bloody reality of sin, our rebelliousness and the process of salvation, free will and its social, church implications.

You want to hide any truth? To protect the innocent?

I have done too much rescue work in my life because of this kind of church approach - protectionism. Soon after they found out the bloody reality, they will lose heart and leave! At CCSF, other than teaching to demythologize Christianity and other religions, very street-wise and skillfully, I mainly do this kind of rescue work.

We ought to carefully and closely follow up on new believers. Most churches do not do this. They are run like shopping malls, always very beautifully dressed up, win some, (advertized) lose some!! (not advertized) Pastors are too busy. Busy bodies, too busy to really lead, and preach. Not too busy to go out of the church to experience the society in order to be relevent. Members are not trained nor are interested in this kind of tedious work. It is very hard to win back those whom we lost through our negligence!!
